Reported Crop Circles for the State
of Wisconsin -
Woodman, Grant County (July, 1980)
Farmer Leyland Freymiller and his son-in-law Ryan Reynolds at the end of the month of July 1980, discovered an 18-foot long by 5-foot wide elliptical, flattened patch of corn which extended across a tractor lane in his field. The corn in the flattened patch was “twisted and broken”, and the leaves of the surrounding standing corn plants had turned “crimson” (red). Freymiller ruled out lightning as a cause as there were no storms in the area at the time they found the oval.
Woodman, WI is close to the Effigy Mounds National Monument just across the Mississippi River in Iowa.
